Career Day Experience
How did career day go?
My career day went really well I got to a lot of things that were fun for me. It got to show me what a day would look like in the career.
Were you nervous? Excited?
I was not nervous going to my career day because I knew the people who I going with and I know roughly what to expect.
What did the day look like?
The day was somewhat of a normal day we went to a house to get some things and to check on the workers. Then we went to the house that I was going to stay and work for the rest of the day. We started to take out the floor of a bathroom that way the plumber can get into the space that he needed to easier. While doing that I had to take the wood that was coming up from floor and taking it to dump trailer. Then after that we had to take the tile off the walls beside the bathtub. I also had to take all the ruble to the dump trailer after that.
How was your mentor?
My mentor was really cool he got to show me what it was like to be in construction and t o get things done even if it means to get a little dirty.
What did you learn?
I learned that when building a house you don't always have something to do. Also that everything has to be done in a certain order even if it means it not being able to do work for a day.
Is this a career you're interested in? Why or why not?
Yes, this is a career that I am interested in because it is doing something that I really enjoy doing.
How did your interview go?
My interview went pretty well I got all the answers that I needed to get the only thing that went wrong was that a water pipe broke so we had to find the water main to shut off the water.
What was the best part of the day?
The best part of the day was when the water pipe broke and we had to go around the house and look for the lever to turn it off.
